Getting Married in Leytonstone United Free Church
55 Wallwood Road

Congratulations on your forthcoming Marriage.
One of the first things you must do is to register the forthcoming marriage. You do this at The Registrar’s Office for the district, or districts, in which you live. For
this area it is:
106 Grove Road
Walthamstow
London
E17 9BY
Telephone: 020 8496 2716
If you live in different districts, you will need to register in both.
You will be able to pick up the Certificate(s) 15 days after you register. These are valid for three calendar months from the day you register. If you do not live in
We cannot legally marry you until we are in possession of the relevant Certificate(s). At the very latest, the minister performing the marriage service must have them by the evening of the rehearsal – usually two days before the wedding day.
By choosing to be married in God’s house, you are saying that Christ and His church will have an ongoing place in your marriage and continuing lives.
The church is much more than a building; it is a group of people who desire to follow Christ, and find ways to express God’s love in their day to day lives. Support networks are helpful, particularly at times of new beginnings. The church seeks to be the family of God, reaching out to each other in prayer and love, sharing the joys and sorrows as we journey together in faith and life.
Our prayer for you is that our church will not only be part of your special day, your wedding, but that throughout your married life, you will come to know and value the privilege of being part of a caring community, sharing Christ’s love with you and your children.

For more information on fees including flowers, organist and other cost please email the minister. The fees are not fixed so please feel free to talk to us about this matter.
The church reserves the right to increase these fees in special circumstances, such as protracted rehearsals.
A free marriage preparation course is extended to you, allowing you both an opportunity to get to know our minister, and to speak with each other, exploring important issues, and to plan the ceremony together. This is usually a six week course. (One hourly meetings).

Our usual organist for Weddings is Mrs Freda Clarke who will be happy to meet with you to discuss music if necessary.
Please contact our Organist in good time to discuss the hymns and the music you would like her to play. You may choose at least two hymns or songs of worship and let Freda know them in good time.
We are happy for a Video Camera to be set up within the church, as long as this is not too intrusive, but flash photography during the ceremony can be off-putting to all concerned.
Parking at Leytonstone United Free Church is limited.
We can possibly accommodate between 13/15 cars.
On a Saturday, parking restrictions on the roads around the church are not in operation. On-street parking may be available.
If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact our minister, in person at Sunday worship or by email
