Words from the Treasurer

At our Annual Church Meeting on 12 th March I will present a summary of our annual accounts for the year 2005 . As I forecast last month, this will show that we came close to meeting our target for average weekly giving of £470. I also said that we would need to challenge ourselves to increase this target in line with inflation if we are to meet the increased costs that there will inevitably be this year. As we come up to this point of annual commitment, please think and pray about this and remember the acronym that we have used in the past: TRIO – The Responsibility Is Ours.

The average weekly giving in the two months to the end of February is a little disappointing at £30 under our target. Although it is still early in the year there is clearly some way to go if we are to reach a target for every week of the year.

Our first fund-raising event for our Wider Mission giving had a very good result - the Quiz Evening raised a good sum of money, significantly up on the same event last year.
