Jesus had finished his ministry. He spent time with his disciples and had been hinting about his death but they were not totally convinced.
On the night of the last supper, he revealed one disciple would deny him and another would betray him. Jesus sensed what laid ahead and he asked his Father to spare him the ordeal if it was possible, but it was inevitable.
He took on flesh and he suffered on the cross and died. He rose from the
grave on Easter day and gave us new life.
He is our Saviour.
